Ballet is the fundamental, technical form from which all other dance styles are rooted. It is the most classic and often serious dance form comparing to all other styles and develops movement principles and skills. Ballet teaches young dancers the technique and terminology  that are important for all dancers to establish and maintain the proper form. Classes will include ballet terminology, use of positions of feet and legs, alignment of spine and placement of weight in center floor and traveling patterns.

This class is for dancers ages 3-5 years old. It is built on the basic movements and terminology of ballet and tap. This class is encouraged for the first-time dancer. At this level, students will learn  tap and ballet skills through dance activities and movement games.

Breakdancing, breaking, b-boying or b-girling  is a popular style of street dance that was born and developed as part of hip-hop culture. As a hip-hop dance, it is  usually danced to hip hop music and incorporates intricate body movements, strong acrobatic moves, coordination, style and spontaneity. The dancers will also get practice dancing freestyle to increase abilities. Athletic shoes required.

Contemporary is a fluid form of dance that will explore the musicality of gesture infused movement combined with Jazz steps. Dancers will be encouraged to push themselves in their movement. Contemporary incorporates a variety of techniques that focus on the dancer's interpretation of his or her movement with feeling, motion and style. Students will explore abstraction and pedestrian movements to help develop their performances.

Creative Movement is is the process of spontaneously creating movement. Development of improvised movement material that is  a variety of unpredictable creative explorations. This class will allow dancers to move freely,  seemingly unstructured and less technical form that draws inspiration from everyday dance practices and influences. Creative Movement  is not only creating new movement but is also focused on exploring your body’s abilities .

Hip-Hop is a  high energy class, teaching the importance of warm ups and cool downs. It explores the use of space, energy and rhythm while emphasizing body control, balance, strength and use of weight changes. Students will learn progressions and choreography that will expand their knowledge of different styles of hip-hop. They will also be encouraged to freestyle to show their individuality and creativity.

This is a fun energetic class and is for dancers ages 3-5 years old. Hippity-Hop introduces them to rhythm, balance and weight changes. We teach them basic tumbling and advanced motor skills such as hopping on foot, bear crawls and crab walks; Along with small combos to upbeat music. These techniques get their muscles working in such a way that they will be more accustomed to advancing in dance.

Jazz combines techniques of classical ballet and modern movement that emphasizes the use of energy, rhythm and  improvisation while emphasizing body control, alignment, use of weight changes and quality within a jazz dance movement. Dancers will learn jazz terminology which will also help their ballet training. Each level of jazz is a continuation of the previous level and increases in difficulty.

Acro Jazz adds in basic acrobatics and appropriate body preparation for such goals.

Musical Theatre is designed to develop comprehensive musical theatre skills including theatre dance, partnering, acting and character development. This class will be an excellent opportunity for students to prepare for school or community theatre auditions as well as developing confidence and stage presence in young dancers.

This class is for baby’s that just want to move! It runs from 18 months - 3 years old and guided by a parent or guardian. Participants will learn basic ballet positions, jazz movement, tumbling and imagination games. We encourage consistency when it comes to which parent or guardian will guide their student through class. The instructor will provide techniques for the parent and get your little one’s moving!

These classes are taught with an emphasis on technique and correct body placement. They are taught in a progressive manner beginning with the basics and advancing to high level skills and combinations of those skills. The strength and stretch is designed to build stamina and condition the body for difficult tricks and aerobic requirements needed for advanced dancing.

Tap classes focus on rhythms and intricate footwork, creating a percussion instrument out of the dancer's feet. Tap is a syncopated movement dance style that is exhilarating and great fun for all ages. And you get to be loud!
